I am so excited to share a super cute homemade Valentine’s Day treat and free printable with you today. Some years we make homemade Valentines and some years we find adorable ready made ones. You really can’t go wrong with either one. But this year, you need to check out these You’re The Bomb valentines….
This little Valentine is super easy to make and I even have the You’re the Bomb Printable for you. to complete the idea. I got some serious “mom points” from my little guy for these. Not too mushy and really “cool” according to him.
Here are the supplies you will need to create your own You’re The Bomb Valentines… {affiliate links}
- Red Crepe Paper or Red Tissue Paper
- Thick string, rope, or welt cording
- Jute Twine
- You’re the Bomb Printable
- Small round candy…I used Lindor White Chocolate Truffles {YUM!}
- Or EOS lip balm!
- Start by cutting small squares { about 4 inches } of the Red Crepe Paper.
- Then cut short lengths {about 5 inches} of both the twine and rope.
- Print out the printable {we designed it with 6 to a sheet} and cut it out.
- Punch a hole in the printable at the top, in the center.
- Place the candy in the center of the crepe paper, and pull the crepe paper up and around the candy.
- Tie the twine around the crepe paper with the tag threaded on.
- Place the piece of rope in it right before you tighten it the whole way.
That is it. Simple and quick!
My son loves this idea. He thinks the rope as the fuse is really cool. I even made one for my teenage daughter but put an EOS lip balm inside of it. {she loves those!}
I just think these turned out precious! I know they may be a bit grown up for some but my kids loved them.
Do you make your own Valentines? We don’t every year, sometimes my kids find the perfect ones for us to buy instead. It’s OK to not be homemade.
Looking for something just as cute but ready made? I love these Army Valentines, they would be an awesome choice. And the Star Wars Valentines with little light sabers….adorable! You have to check them out.
We have tons of Valentine Ideas for gifts and home decor for you to check out on the blog, and even an awesome Valentine Gift Guide for you to shop from! Or to drop some hints to that special someone. Hint Hint!
Enjoy!
