Make a lace tote bag in 5 minutes!
I love a good tote bag. They serve so many purposes and are such an easy thing to give a fancy upgrade in just minutes. This simple lace tote bag is one of my all time favorite totes!
Seriously friends, I truly love it and it does actually only take a few minutes to make it. It is great for Mother’s Day or a Teacher Appreciation gift. Personally, sometimes I like to make things for myself every once in a while. Why not?!
I am a sucker for pretty trim. Just like my fabric addiction, you will find lots of different trim in my craft room. Some of it I have kept for years just waiting for the perfect project. When it is half off at Hobby Lobby, it is really tough for me to resist purchasing some.
After Bonnie made this lace trimmed t-shirt… I was more than a little jealous. I really needed some of that lace. I was picturing it on everything… dresses for the girls, purses, and on a tote!
Isn’t that trim a dream? We found ours at Hobby Lobby, but I have also seen something similar at Wal-Mart in the past. I purchased a few yards and had a few projects up my sleeve. One of those projects as a simple tote bag.
To make this tote, I purchased a three pack of medium sized tote bags from Hobby Lobby and about half a yard of this beautiful lace. I simply glued the lace to the front of the tote bag with Fabri-Tac and it was complete… so unbelievably simple.
Can you believe how something this simple could look this amazing? This is always my favorite type of craft!
I also used this trim to make this lace embellished onesie. I made it for a baby gift and have done several since this first one. It is always a hit!
If you love totes as much as I do, you will also think this color block tote is so pretty. It is also a great gift idea and perfect for teachers and Mother’s Day.
Speaking of teachers… you can transform any tote bag into a perfect teacher gift with our free teacher appreciation printable. Let that special teacher know that they are tote-tally terrific!
What is your favorite tote bag? It would be so hard for me to pick!
