Today I wanted to share these beautiful Bird’s Nest Napkin Rings all over again. They are worth an encore. Have a nice weekend!
I really do love spring. The warmer weather, signs of life, beautiful colors, and the sounds of chirping birds. It all makes me smile and warms my heart. He really does make all things new.
With the sounds of spring out my porch door this weekend, I headed up to my craft room to gather the supplies I have had for quite sometime { can anyone else relate? } to create these sweet reminders of God’s new creations.
Bird’s Nest Napkin Rings
The sweet little eggs nestled in the nests, are a constant reminder that the circle of life continues, and each spring brings new hope and a new beginning.
The simplicity and natural elements are perfect in your home for the spring months ahead.
I snuggled a simple osnaburg linen napkin into the napkin ring for a very casual feel. Place these on ivory plates and add a woven charger to complete the natural, simple spring place setting.
So let me walk you through making some of these for your own home decor. They are really easier than you might think.
Supplies for Bird’s Nest Napkin Rings…
- Unfinished Wooden Napkin Rings
- Miniature Plastic Bird’s Eggs
- Miniature Bird’s Nests
- Faux Fern Stem
- Americana Decor Multi-Surface Metallic Paint in Champagne
- Foam Paint Brush
- Glue gun and Glue Sticks
STEP ONE
Using the foam paint brush, paint each of the unfinished wooden napkin rings with a coat of the champagne colored multi-surface paint. Allow each to fully dry.
STEP TWO
Apply a light coat of the metallic paint to each of the miniature bird’s eggs. This will give them just a bit of sparkle to contrast all the natural elements. Allow them to dry fully.
STEP THREE
Using your glue gun, attach 2 pieces of faux fern to the wooden napkin ring. I used 1 fern stem that had about 20 smaller pieces that I could pull off to use.
STEP FOUR
Attach the mini bird’s nests with the glue gun to the napkin ring on top of the fern stems. Almost done!
STEP FIVE
Arrange 3 little painted eggs in each nest and attach with the glue gun. Don’t they look sweet all nestled in the nest!
That’s all! A classic and simple idea for your spring decor. Your Easter table would be adorable with these added to it. Use them year after year to welcome the warmer months.
The contrast of the champagne gold and warm browns and greens are the perfect compliment to my dining room.
We ate in our dining room with my parents while they were here and had a great family dinner. The furniture may be formal but the atmosphere is always casual. I try to add things to the table to tie in our casual lifestyle with the formality of a dining room.
You would be surprised how it can take a simple, southern dinner up a notch. The dump cake we had for dessert even tasted better in the “fancy room” as my kids say!
A few Easter’s ago, I shared another tablescape using sweet little bird’s nests filled with decoupage eggs.
Can you tell that I am a sucker for bird’s nests? They are a great decorating and crafting idea.
We have so many ideas for tablescapes and Easter. Be sure to check them all out!
