You may remember how I got honest about laundry this week. Well, I decided that my laundry room needed a little sprucing up. I am hoping that with my new laundry detergent and a new look, laundry won’t be such a pain! I painted the walls and used some fabulous fabric from Jo Ann’s HGTV HOME™ fabric.
The first thing that I want to tell you is that doing a little updating in your home does not cost a lot of money.
In fact, other than the beautiful fabric, I had everything on hand to complete this project! By using a paint color that I had already used in my kitchen, I was able to utilize leftover paint, two yards of the HGTV HOME™ fabric, and a few embroidery hoops that I already had.
Just a little sprucing up made a huge impact in my little laundry room.
Here is a peek at the fabric that I was given by Jo Ann’s to try out. Isn’t it just beautiful?
It feels so nice and is just so vibrant. You really need to check out the selection in their stores. It is great fabric to use to add a little pizazz in your home.
Here is what it looks like now… so easy and hopefully laundry time will be more enjoyable! Let’s take a look at a few of the elements that were changed…
For the wall art, I simply framed a few different sections of the fabric with embroidery hoops. This worked perfectly because it had the perfect size repeat and I could frame 4 different types of flowers. If you want to find out how to frame fabric with a hoop, take a look at our Monogrammed Embroidery Hoop Art for a step by step tutorial.
I just cannot get over how much I love this fabric!! It has the perfect blend of pinks, oranges, grays, and browns… all of my favorite colors!
I had already installed a burlap counter skirt under the counter in my laundry room, but it needed a little updating. I decided to use the houndstooth pattern of the HGTV Home fabric and made a cuff. It was super simple and it was high time I blew the dust off of my sewing machine!
If you are interested in making one for yourself, it is really not too difficult to do. To make the counter skirt you will just make a casing { or folded over tube } large enough at the top of the burlap to fit a shower curtain rod. Thread it through and you are done!
Now you can use a little bit of fabric to completely update a room in your home. Just do it… I am so glad that I did!
Here is a peek at some other embroidery hoop decor items we have created…
This unique twist on Halloween decor… a Spider Web Wreath.
I love those colors!!! Good choice on the art for your laundry room.

Those are gorgeous and I love how easy. I made some hoop fabric art a while ago…this might be the motivation I need to get it hung on the wall now

simple and fun…and inexpensive! Bet you could also staple the fabric around canvas frames
Thanks Shawn! It is so funny that you say that about the canvas… that is what I had hanging in there before, but I have some plans for those guys in my little one’s room. Hope all is well!
