A no-fuss holiday appetizer and wine pairing.
I have a confession to make: I used to be afraid of wine.
I was terrified to choose wine for entertaining, because I thought it was too difficult and I didn’t know what was “proper”. Over the years, I have built up a little confidence and know the basics, but heading to the wine section at the store was so overwhelming.
There are bottles and bottles of choices, but even if I knew that I wanted a white wine… even a particular type like Zinfandel or Chardonnay, it was still overwhelming. When I go to a restaurant, the wait staff is always so good at describing a certain type of flavor. I need that when I go to the grocery store.
As of March, my need for a fabulous description of wine at the store just became met. Notable Wines is the first brand of wine to highlight the flavor profile on the bottle. The wine aisle is so much less confusing for me now.
Notable Wines share exactly the flavor you are about to sip. They use flavor notes like butter, oak, and fruity to lead you to the wine you want.
When I have guests over, I can serve two types of Chardonnay. They can look right on the label to decide if they would like a citrus blend with melon and peach or if they prefer something more oaky and buttery. They don’t have to be afraid to choose either and they can select their favorite flavor profiles without having to ask.
Do you know what I love about Chardonnay? It is perfect to serve with an appetizer platter for holiday gatherings.
Just gather up your favorite items to graze on to serve with these two delicious wines. I love to pair a few different flavors of grapes, nuts, a cracker or crisp, salami and a cheese.
For this holiday appetizer platter, I used dry salami, baguette crisps, red and black grapes, and baked brie with dry roasted pecans and raspberry jam.
Less than 10 minutes of cooking and loads of flavor. This platter is great with either one of the Chardonnay flavors from Notable Wines.
Are you going to be entertaining this holiday season? I hope this helps!
