A Sweet Southern Family Room was written by Daisy Mae Belle.
Hi!
I’m Melissa.
And, I share my home and projects over at
A great BIG thank you to Bonnie and Trish for allowing me to be here today!
I absolutely LOVE their blog!
I have been following along for awhile now,
and am always amazed at their creativity!
They’ve asked me to share a little bit about my favorite room of my house.
So, welcome to my family room.
Where my friends and family gather around the TV…
…and, my girls work on their projects.
Where every wall…
…is a gallery wall.
Not because they are all the rage right now,
but, because I have a tendency to collect.
I really consider it more of a gift. 🙂
I just seem to stumble upon great treasures that no one in their right mind would pass up.
Like this silver trophy that I found at a barn sale on Saturday!
And, see these candlesticks?
They were 25 cents!
And, that metal basket was $4!
See what I mean,
I just find treasures...
Along with my collecting tendency,
I also have a crafting tendency.
and the moss and barn wood sign.
I also recently made this standing wreath.
I found one at a really nice, expensive store,
and, I didn’t want to pay their nice, expensive price,
so, I made one myself!
My other tendency is to paint furniture.
Don’t mind my golden laying right there in the middle of the floor 🙂
This is where she spends most of her time,
lounging in our family room.
Along with my collecting,
and my crafting,
and my painting tendencies,
I also have a tendency to LOVE to have family and friends into my home.
I sure wish I could sit here a bit with you,
and learn about your tendencies 🙂
I have a feeling some of them would be very similar!
Life to the full!
Melissa

Thank you all for allowing Melissa to share some of the details of her favorite room. I love it. It feels like a great place to sit down with family and friends. I hope you don’t mind being an inspiration for a “few” changes to my collecting tendencies. It’s time to get some of my treasures out of their hiding places. Have a great autumn. Thanks again, Melissa, for sharing your beautiful space.

Great post as always from Melissa. Love her Golden, she helps to make family room look lived in and welcoming as all her many incredible goodies always do. Seems like every time I see photos of her family room I notice more things I’d love to emulate. So awesome. Happy weekend ladies.

Hi Melissa, thank you for sharing your home with us. I love the look you have created and your painted furniture. I also have a tendency to collect and fill my rooms with things that I love, but recently I have come to fill over whelmed with all of my stuff and all the work it takes to keep things clean and dusted. How do you handle keeping everything clean and dusted? As I get older I find it a chore to keep everything clean. Tell me your secret to handling all of the dusting, which is my least favorite thing to do. Thank you again for sharing and your place is really nice.
Regards
Debbie
