Good morning! Angela here! I’m so excited to be a food contributor here at Uncommon Designs. At my blog, Handmade in the Heartland, I share recipes (similar to what I’ll be showing here), craft and DIY projects, parenting tips, home decor ideas, lots of dessert recipes and the occasional fashion post. I’d love for you to pop over and see my blog. Today I am sharing a recipe for Strawberry Rhubarb Individual Pies.
I love the farmer’s market here in Kansas City and over the past five years there hasn’t been many items that I haven’t purchased, but rhubarb happened to be one of those things that just hadn’t made it into my bag. My husband had told me that he hated it so I just decided it wasn’t worth the try, but man have I been missing out! I’m not sure how it would be not doused in sugar and paired with strawberries but these strawberry rhubarb individual pies are delicious. The rhubarb adds just enough sour-ie zing to give the pie a perfect sweet and sour flavor that is distinct and delicious. Even my skeptical husband liked it!

What a delicious way to have your very own serving! I was born and raised in the South and had never heard of rhubarb before my husband, who is from Indiana told me all about it. He had Publix order some for us, and wow when it’s mixed in a dessert it’s amazing! I can’t wait to share this recipe with him.
