My daughter had been eyeing some embellished hoodies and the light bulb went off… stenciling!! What a perfect way to achieve a very unique and one of a kind look!
Isn’t it precious! I used the Butterfly Bloom #3 Wall Art Stencil from Cutting Edge Stencils. I think it turned out incredible and she is thrilled!
Supplies Needed for Stenciled Hoodie:
1. Hoodie { this one is from Target}
3.Paint and Fabric Medium {I used Martha Stewart’s Fabric Medium and Pearl Lilac Multi Surface Paint}
4.Sponge Painter Dauber
Step 1:
I used painter’s tape to stabilize the stencil on the hoodie. I centered it on the back of the hoodie. I also placed a large piece of poster board underneath to protect my table! 🙂
Step 2:
Next I applied the paint using the sponge dauber. Don’t you just love the lilac color?!
Step 3:
Carefully remove the stencil from the hoodie. The detail is amazing, I was super pleased with that! I followed the directions on the fabric medium for finishing the sealing of the paint.
My girl was thrilled with the finished result and so was I!
Stenciling is so versatile! There are endless possibilities in both design and surfaces!
What have you stenciled lately? Later this month I will reveal a little home decor item that I am currently working on with stencils…gonna be adorable!
