It is Monday and time for another edition of One Crafty Summer! Today we have the fabulous Megan from Megan Brooke Handmade sharing a DIY Ring Toss!
Hi Uncommon Design readers! It’s Megan popping over from Megan Brooke Handmade. I’m so excited to be part of One Crafty Summer. Summer is one of my favorite seasons. I love everything about it including the extra daylight and all the fun activities and events outside this time of year!
This is the perfect time of year to get your neighbors together or friends and family and host an outdoor bbq. And a great way to keep both adults and kids entertained is with some fun outdoor yard games.
Making and putting together outdoor games can be super easy and inexpensive. Take for example this easy diy ring toss game.
All you need are some glass bottles, curtain rings and a vintage crate.
I bought these vintage bottles at a large antique store in Asheville, NC {called the Old Tobacco Barn}. You can typically find these kind of bottles at any flea market or antique store in your area though. Or, if you have access to new coke or pepsi bottles, those will work too!
When looking for a crate, look for a crate that has several small compartments like this one to hold the bottles in place.
For the rings, I found these white curtain rod rings at my local Home Depot store. You can use any kind of curtain ring though and spray paint them any color. I specifically wanted mine to be white so these were perfect since they were already the color I wanted!
You’ll notice that these rings in particular did come with clips attached.
The clips unscrew really easy though and just leave a small hole on one end {that will hardly be noticeable to friends and family}.
And that’s really all there is to it!
Now you have a fun outdoor game that both adults and kids can enjoy this summer.
Yard games are also fun for outdoor weddings. With this being wedding season, a diy ring toss game would be perfect for guests to enjoy during your wedding reception as well.
Thanks so much to Bonnie and Trish for including me in this fun series! For more fun diy projects and crafts, be sure to visit me over at Megan Brooke Handmade. You can also follow Megan Brooke Handmade on Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook and Google +.
