When we saw the fall apothecary jars over at Shanty 2 Chicย , we were inspired to create our own! Our Boo Apothecary Jarsย turned out just too cute!
We love the traditional colors and prints of halloween, so the black and white gingham ribbons were simply the right touch! The pop of color from the candy corns ( a favorite of one of us!!) just really sets off our “BOO” letters. There are so many possibilities with these….filled with fall items,Thanksgiving dinner table, Christmas with peppermints, even New Year’s!! Hmmm…you might just see another post or two with these in it throughout the holidays…and the next year!!

I love those jars too. The candy corns are perfect for a little halloween decor. Great idea to switch out the letters by hanging them with ribbon. I think i need some of these.

These R so cute. But, as much as I love candy corn, I don’t think this would work for me. I’d have a sugar hangover until they were gone.

So cute! I like yours better than the inspiration ones.
Thanks guys for all of the kind words. We got most of our supplies from good old Hobby Lobby. Laurie… that is where the letters came from, too! Thanks!
I forgot to add that the letters are just the small wooden ones from HL.
Love the way these turned out. Where did you find the cute metal letters?
These are too cute! I want some! They look fantastic, awesome job!

Where did you get these jars?
Want to know the same thing!!
Hi! We made the apothecary jars based on a tutorial from the blog Shanty 2 Chic [see above blog post} !! ๐ The actual glass jars came from Hobby Lobby.
We made these jars ourselves with glass canisters from Hobby Lobby and unfinished wood candlesticks and parts. You can view this link… for more supply info.. https://uncommondesignsonline.com/2011/10/boo-and-joy-apothecary-jars-revisited.html

Just curious to know why you refer to them as “apothecary”? I thought apothecary was the old fashioned name for a pharmacist but I see a lot of glass objects everywhere named apothecary. Thnaks for any feedback
Found you on pinterest– love the versatility of these jars!

Affordable blog proofreading for when your blog has attracted too many followers to pretend it’s okay because no one’s going to see it.
I made this design using glass candle holders glued to jars with glass glue and to the lids i glued black crows, a fall ribbon and the letters say fall with the 2 “l”s on 1 jar. I love this so much i plan on doing a Christmas design. Thanks for the great idea!!!
Soooo cute!! Where did you get the lids for these at?
Hi! The tops are painted black and have a finial glued to them. Unfortunately, we made these 2 years ago and Hobby Lobby no longer carries the finials. You may want to try AC Moore or another craft store. Have a great day!
I LOVE your “BOO” apothecary jars!! I did follow the instructions from the link you provided. However, in saying tha, the joy of DIY is that you can take an idea from one site and add your own creativity to suite your own personal style. Yours by far are my FAVORITE! Thank you for posting this!! I will be sure to use these for other holidays as well. Awesome Job!!
