Simple, elegant, and timeless…that is what I think of when I see a wheat bundle. When I started thinking about decorating my home for fall, I knew I wanted to incorporate flowing wheat. The color and texture of it create a subtle feeling of cozy in your home. The combination of the wheat and burlap are just beautiful, don’t you think?
The burlap bow tied around the middle adds just the right balance and touch for the center of my fall table. If you have never worked with burlap, find a ribbon that is wired to create the perfect bow.
Let me show you how to make your own DIY Wheat Bundle Centerpiece…
_____________________________
Supplies Needed:
1. Dried Wheat : I used 2 bunches of wheat for the single centerpiece
2. Floral Wire
3. Ribbon
4. 4 inch Wide Wired Burlap Ribbon
5. Scissors
6. Sliced Wood Piece { similar to the one I used }
______________________________
STEP ONE: Gather your supplies…
STEP TWO: Combine the 2 bunches of wheat. Wrap with floral wire. Tie a small ribbon over the wire if desired.
STEP THREE: Adjust the height of the bundle by cutting off the bottom of the wheat stalks. Stand the bundle upright and fan out the bottom to balance out the weight of the wheat. It should resemble an hourglass shape.
STEP FOUR: Now it is time to tweak the way the wheat stalks look. You may want to thin it out a bit by removing a few. Or fan it out a bit to get a fuller look. You can also continue to adjust the height if needed.
Now, at this point you have a beautiful, rustic wheat bundle. I wanted to soften it up a little for my fall table. So, I simply tied a classic burlap bow around the wheat bundle and left the tails long and flowing out onto the table. I also placed my wheat bundle on a piece of sliced wood.
I love bringing a bit of nature indoors at this time of year and this wheat bundle was the perfect touch to my fall table. All the neutral colors and textures create an environment of coziness and family.
The wheat bundle centerpiece compliments these burlap utensil holders perfectly too..
I even nestled a bit of wheat down inside the utensil holder with a place card attached to it. Simple, but welcoming.
If you missed my entire Fall Home Tour, I invite you to step inside a bit of my home! Would love to have ya!

I love this look! Rustic yet classic at the same time. This could easily be used for many years. I have two questions…can you tell me which specific wheat bundle you purchased? There are several on this website. Also, where did you get all of the large acorns that are on your table. They are absolutely adorable! Thanks for sharing. Happy holidays!

What size wheat bundle did you get? I’m seeing short stem and long stem ones.
Trish & Bonnie @ Uncommon Designs says
I purchased 2 wheat bundles that each had about 40 stems in each. You can cut them off if you need the bundle shorter.
