Do you love water? I do, but it took a little nudging. Drinking water is second nature for my children, but it sure isn’t for me. It has taken me a lot of time to really get in the habit and I have found that adding a little something to liven up the flavor really has helped me along. Today I am sharing some of my favorite flavored water recipes.
Y’all know that I don’t bake or cook anything that is remotely complicated or with a long ingredient list. These water recipes are beyond easy, but so yummy. Each only requires a few items from the supermarket and most you will normally have on hand.
1. Citrus Infused Water I love anything citrus as do many of you. To acheive this delicious recipe, simply add sliced oranges and lemons to a pitcher of ice water. Summer never tasted so delicious!
2. Strawberry Mint Water. This is a combination that signifies my little La La’s favorite fresh goodies. Add sliced strawberries and mint leaves to water and you have a sweet and refreshing treat that will be a crowd pleaser.
3. Cucumber Lime Basil Water Basil isn’t just for cooking! Add it to some water along with sliced cucumber and lime and you will have the most delicious and refreshing treat for Summer. Get ready for the warm days ahead!
The benefits of drinking plenty of water are vast. Even if you weren’t raised drinking water, it is never too late to get in the habit. Add fresh fruit and herbs to give ordinary water a new life and incredible taste. Whip up a batch in the morning and enjoy a delicious treat all day long!

Thanks for the great infused water recipes! I hear ya re: the water thing. I just made a pitcher of ice water with lemon and limes but I’m definitely going to try the others.

I’m a big water drinker. Here are 2 of my favorites if that’s okay… If you like pineapple, put pineapple in your water (I never thought of pineapple until I was at a boutique and they were offering it – it was very refreshing). Also put apple slices and cinnamon sticks in your water and let it steep for a couple of hours. I can’t wait to try the lemon/orange and the mint/strawberry.

Love the idea of using pineapple… I am totally going to try it! Thanks so much for stopping in!

I was wanting a little clarification. Do you squeeze the fruit in then add the slices? How long do you need to let it set for the flavors to infuse? Is the taste weak or strong? I really want to try it but if I can’t taste the fruit why bother? Help please!
Trish & Bonnie @ Uncommon Designs says
Hi Judi!
If you are going to drink it right away, I would definitely squeeze the fruit before you add it to the water. I usually will whip up a batch in the morning and sip on it throughout the day. It is definitely more flavorful as the day goes on. Hope this helps! Thanks for popping in!
Take care,
Trish

SO pretty, and living in AZ, we drink a LOT of water in the summer, and plain water gets boring! Love this! I’d love for you to come link these up at my Skip The Housework Party! http://bit.ly/TerHGJ

My husband was just commenting, the other day, about how we need to start drinking flavored water instead of the mixed teas we’re always drinking. I agreed with him but was kind of stumped about what else to do other than just sliced lemons in water. Thank you for these simple ideas! I will definitely give these a try. (Found you on the Monday Funday link up.)

I use infused waters a lot but the strawberry mint combo is new to me. I have both in my fridge and will be taking it in my water bottle for work. Your photos are very nice.

Not only do these look refreshing and delightful, they are also beautiful!

Thanks for sharing these awesome flavored water recipes! They definitely make me nostalgic for my childhood summers. My mom has always grown her own mint and she would make us flavored waters that always had mint involved, all summer long. I look forward to trying these out— I just need to get some cute bottles like you have! Where can I find those? Thanks again! 🙂
Emily @ Two Purple Couches says
YUM!! I love infused waters, and lucky for me I have plenty of mint and basil growing in my garden right now!
Linda J says
Loved the new infused water for me to try and love the bottles you used. Where did you purchase the bottles? They make the water look so good.
Trish @ Uncommon Designs says
Hi Linda! I purchased mine from a place called Carolina Pottery. They only have a few locations in the Southeast. I did see something similar at Wal-Mart a few weeks ago… hope this helps! Have a great weekend!

Trish

Silly question, but I added some lime to my water today in a glass similar to this … how do you get the fruit out once your done? 🙂 Thanks!
Trish & Bonnie @ Uncommon Designs says
Hi Stacy!
I actually just turned the bottle upside down and fished out the fruit with my finger. Not very glamorous, but did the trick for me! Hope this helps!
Take care,
Trish
Linda says
If you empty the water before the day is over, can you just add more water to the same fruit or do you need to start over with fresh fruit?
Trish & Bonnie @ Uncommon Designs says
I usually keep it in the fridge and add new fruit once I have used all that is in the pitcher! Hope this helps!
