Hey y’all. I know it seems like school just got out, but I am really trying to get some projects completed that have been on my list forever. Today, as part of DecoArt’s core blogging team, I am sharing how to solve one of my family’s biggest problems… school clothes! I am hoping to really ease some stressful mornings with these Days of the Week Closet Organizers!
This project was a must for this mama. See, my youngest daugter, La La, is a little particular about her clothing. She only likes to wear certain things and would wear her favorites every day if I would let her! She could care less what anyone thinks, which will be a great… one day!
You may remember seeing her from the quick and easy striped workbench tutorial. Yep… she’d happily wear those colorful shorts every single day, even if they were never washed! You can imagine that our school mornings are not always the most fun part of our day, but by laying out our clothes at the beginning of the week, things should be looking up! I am praying that these clothing dividers will really make a difference for us.
The clothing organizers are made with Americana Chalkboard paint. It works perfectly with our changing schedule. For our kids, their related arts change every month, so it will be so helpful to be able to change out which activity on which day. No more last minute changes!
How to Make Chalkboard Days of the Week Clothing Dividers
Supplies: (affiliate links)
Americana Multi Surface Satin Paint in White Birch
Glue
Step One. Apply two coats of the chalkboard paint to each door hanger. Let dry completely between coats.
Step Two. Paint each of the chipboard letters with the white acrylic paint. I applied two coats.
Step Three. Season the wooden hangers by rubbing chalk on the front and wiping it away with a paper towel. Glue the letters to the front of the wooden hanger. You are done!

These are all such great ideas!!! I’m totally going out to purchase some chalkpaint tomorrow so I can make these planning hangers for my niece and nephew to start the new school year! I’m so excited, I love the idea! I would have loved to have this when I was a kid–I arranged my clothing in perfect order by day of the week, but I love having a visual. Super fab lunch and homework stations too! TFS your inspiring creations and ideas!
