i have had you ladies in my reader for quite some time! love your stuff (including that rad banner.)
i’m thankful, even though i kick and scream and act super bratty, that the Lord knows what is best for my life, even if that doesn’t make sense to me. it is super comforting to know that He really does have it all under control. He never withholds good from His children and that is something to be thankful for, for sure!

Love checking you out and getting great ideas!
I’m thankful for the people in my life–the ones who influence me, sustain me, shape me, challenge me, love me. I’m thankful for my family, my babies, for doctors, and health insurance. I’m grateful for moments of quiet, for on-the-go days, for PTO chaos, for teachers who care enough to excel in their work. I’m grateful for little hands, for big hugs, for wet kisses, for toothless grins.
There. That was easy!
Thanks for the opportunity. 🙂

Several years ago I had to retire to care for my adult daughter who was disabled at birth and aging out of the school system. I love my daughter dearly but did not want to give up that part of my life that I thought made me who I am, separate and apart from a caregiver mom. These five years have been challenging with prolonged job loss due to economy for my husband, a MS diagnosis for me and probably most difficult, learning to see my child as not only “my baby” but a young woman – one who just happens to function on a third to fourth grade level. Nonetheless, I have been able to care for my two granddaughters several days a week and fall head over heels in love who those two angels. I have learned to cherish the many blessings in my life and not dwell on the challenges. So my thanks will always be first and foremost, for being chosen to be this beautiful young woman’s mother; second, having a (2nd) husband who chose not only me but my child to love and cherish; and third, the opportunity to be mom and friend to my husband’s daughter and become a grandma – something I never thought could happen. So with a daughter who is completely dependent on me, a recently chronic disease diagnosis of my own (one which will lead to progressive disabilities) and a husband who was recently deemed disabled because of back issues – I am the most blessed woman on this earth because I have the opportunity to learn to do things in a way that will work for my family and a drive to assist my daughter learn to be a bit more independent. Without these challenges, I may not have been someone who chooses to love completely and accept love unconditionally. So, I am thankful for challenges because my life is good, every day.

I am thankful for my soul mate and husband that supports me in everything I do. He gives me the unconditional love to be a wife and mother. He gives me the confidence to succeed in my job. And he allows me to have “me time” to go running, sew, upholster, paint or work on whatever new projet I have dreamed up.
