Hey Y’all! Today we wanted to show off one of our favorite projects from way back when we had about two followers! This Embroidery Hoop Wall Art is a fabulous way to customize some home decor for a more personal feel.
Please join us as we take a walk down memory lane….
Looking for an inexpensive way to add a pop of color to your walls?
Embroidery Hoop art is all the rage right now, so we thought we’d give it a try. We used Amy Butler’s French Wallpaper fabric in orange and had it monogrammed in a rich chocolate brown. It is so beautiful and is the perfect combination of vibrant color mixed with classic style. It was also a lot of fun to make and a great one evening project.
Here are the details:
-
14″ square of fabric, monogrammed
-
14″ square of cotton canvas
- spray paint in your color of choice { I used Rustoleum Oasis Blue }
- iron
- hot glue gun
Step 1…
Spray paint your embroidery hoop. I taped off the metal hardware and sprayed a couple of coats until it was completely covered. A tip when using spray paint…do not spray too close and allow time to dry between coats. Light coats are best.
Iron both pieces of fabric and put the main fabric on top of the canvas so you can see the monogram. Then, slip it on the embroidery hoop. Make sure it is exactly how you want it to show, because in the next step it becomes permanent. It should be wrinkle-free and very tight.
Step 3…
Turn over the hoop and begin to hot glue the fabric to the exposed wooden hoop on the underside. Clip any excess fabric. You can also cover this with ribbon and glue if you like for a more finished appearance.
