Well, I have the privilege of sharing a new book with you today from a friend, fellow blogger, and incredibly talented lady. Her new book is entitled DIY Rustic Modern Metal Crafts { 35 creative upcycling ideas for galvanized metal}. A perfect fit for Laura Putman.
First a bit of back history so that you know that I both know and love her, and also respect her incredible style and talent.
Laura and I met at our very first blogging conference ever, within 5 minutes of the beginning of the conference…in the bar outside the meeting room. And yes, actually we both had a coke {or pop as she would say}. I was there with my sister-in-law and she was by herself. She had a northern accent and we have southern accents so it was a match made in heaven. We were close in age, and had similar anxieties about being at the conference and away from our families. Yet, we instantly connected in our love of blogging and creativity. Fast forward almost 4 years and she is on speed dial on my phone.
So when she told me the little secret that she would be writing a book, I was giddy! Her style and attention to detail in her projects on her blog, Finding Home Farms, are incredible. I knew her blog, and followed it, before I ever met her.
Laura creates projects that are amazing. So I was excited to see her new book, DIY Rustic Modern Metal Crafts.
The first thing I noticed when I received the book was the layout. The entire book is about different types of metal crafts, so she included an entire chapter on necessary supplies and descriptions to create any type of metal craft. Such a plus! And each chapter includes multiple project tutorials for a specific area or function.
For instance, this chapter on rustic metal planters includes multiple projects for planters. AND sweet Laura is also sharing little tips and recommendations for you along the way. Did I tell you how detail oriented she is?
The pictures in this book are beautiful, clear, and Laura goes out of her way to make sure the step by step tutorials are photographed impeccably, to assist you in creating your own version of the project. The material lists are thorough, and specific, which makes shopping for supplies so much easier.
This book is full of projects that are meant to become a permanent part of your home, 35 to be exact. The satisfaction you will get out of creating something useful, beautiful, and unique is worth all the time and labor…don’t you think? There is a wreath in the book that I have my eye on and who wouldn’t want to create the coffee table in this reading nook….
So after settling back with a hot cup of coffee and reading through DIY Rustic Modern Metal Crafts, I can honestly say this book is full of creative, unique , and beautiful projects meant to add a bit of functionality and beauty to any home. Well worth adding to your craft, home decor, and diy reading library!
