Hey y’all!
I am back today with another amazing project using DecoArt’s Americana line of paint as part of their core blogging team. I have been a busy little bee making all sorts of handmade gifts over the last week… birthday gifts, teacher gifts, party favors… you name it! I needed something fabulous to personalize them and these quick and easy monogrammed bag tags were born!
Oh my goodness… I may have an addiction to these letters. No joke… I have painted a gazillion of these in the last few days and I am still not sick of them! For teacher gifts, I attached them to coolers that I picked up at Target and the girls are so excited to pass them along to their teachers. Ok, so I’m guessing you’d like to know how to make these, huh? Here ya go!
Monogrammed Bag Tag Tutorial
Supplies Needed:
- Unfinished Wooden Letter
- Jute String
- Americana Acrylic Paint
- Screw Eyes #216 – 1/2″
Step One. Paint your unfinished wooden letter with the Americana acrylic paint. I used two coats of paint to cover any discoloration that the letters may have had. It worked like a charm!
Step Two. Time to insert the screw eye. I didn’t even need any tools, because the wooden letter was so soft. Just use a little force and twist the screw eye into place. If your letter is harder, you may need to pierce the wood with something sharp to get the hole started. Please be careful if you do this!
Step Three. Cut about a 9-10 inch piece of jute string and thread it through the screw eye.
Step Four. Tie your letter on to the bag and you are all done. So incredibly easy!
I just can’t wait to share all of the other projects I have been working on that have an adorable monogrammed bag tag. I had a ball personalizing these coolers, but the fun has just begun… stay tuned!
