Are you like me… do you forget every year how insanely busy the end of school can be? I don’t know how I do it, but I forget every last time. However, we survived it…. just barely! If you are like me and are worn out from all of the May early June craziness, I have the perfect Father’s Day gift idea for you… a wooden bottle caddy and some awesome free Father’s day printable tags!
I was working on a project last week and popped into World Market and saw this awesome wooden bottle caddy. It even came with a bottle opener attached. I immediately fell in love with it and knew that I could paint it to give it a quick pop of color.
This was the perfect project for Americana Decor’s Chalky Finish Paint. It would give it a beautiful, but vintage finish, which was the exact look I was going for. So, I gathered my supplies of a foam brush, Chalky Finish Paint in Cameo, and the Americana Decor Soft Touch Varnish.
I removed the hardware and added a coat of paint. It only took one coat and dried in no time!
I couldn’t believe how great it turned out after only one coat!
Once the paint had dried completely, I brushed on a coat of the soft touch varnish. This added a little extra protection for the bottle caddy…. a must for this project!
I can’t get over how cute the bottle opener is… the girls thought it was fabulous and they were ready to pop open a root beer!
The final phase of the project was to add the free printable Father’s Day tags. Aren’t they cute… “My Dad Rocks”! They are perfect with or without the bottle caddy! Enjoy!
