See that adorable little turkey? Well he is our family’s newest additon…our “Thankful Turkey” ! I saw a fabulous idea in the current issue of BHG { you know the one with our bloggy friend Heather from At The Picket Fence in it! 😉 } This little guy is going to be at our home all during the Thanksgiving season, gobbling around from person to person encouraging them to both, Give Thanks and show gratitude to others. He is kind of like our version of the Holiday “Elf on the Shelf”!
This little guy is just the cutest! I simply tied a jute bow around his neck and attached a mini clothespin to it. Now he is all ready to leave little notes of thanks and gratitude all over our house as he visits each family member. Who knows where he will show up first! I love “catching” my children showing acts of gratitude and giving thanks and this little turkey will be a little reminder to all of our family!
There are just so many ideas out there for creating Thanksgiving Family Traditions. Stop by next week and I will show you how to create another one …our Thankful Bucket Garland! I just can’t wait for our family and friends to start “filling the buckets”!
See those sweet painted pumpkins on my mantel? I am just in love with those and the sayings on them. Another one of our sweet bloggy friends, Gracie, from Kitchen Table Art made those. Stop by and visit her, she is a sweetie! I hope that you, and your family and friends, will enjoy all that the Thanksgiving season has to offer! Now the last question is …What Do We Name Our Little Thanksgiving Turkey???

Love it! We started a new tradition on the New Year. Every first Monday of the month we write what we are thankful for and put it into a “Thankful Box” that we will open on Thanksgiving Day and read all of it together. It will be fun to see what we were grateful for through the year!

I couldn’t agree more.. Fall has such a cozy feeling to it!! Once the season it does I am nostalgic towards it the rest of the year – we are having turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes for dinner tonight because I couldn’t wait another 21 days!

I love Fall as well. I wish it felt more like Fall though, but that’s a different story. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. I love the family getting together and the food. I can’t forget the food.. And how for some reason, we don’t eat any thing on that menu during the rest of the year.

love all the decorations! I’m hosting a Thanksgiving party all month long (until Thanksgiving) and would love for you to come over and link it up! This is in addition to my normal Tasteful Tuesday party that runs every Tuesday. Thank you for taking the time to celebrate Thanksgiving and be THANKFUL for all our blessings. http://www.nap-timecreations.com/2012/10/pull-apart-pumpkin-maple-bread-and.html
