Hi there friends! It’s Laura from Inspiration for Moms back again with a wonderful Fall dessert. Everyone loves a sweet apple pie but who likes making crusts, peeling apples, and spending hours in the kitchen cooking just to make one? Not me! Let me introduce you to my Easy Skillet Apple Pie recipe. All the flavors you love baked in a skillet.
With this recipe, you can have a warm, juicy apple pie within about 30 minutes. Sound pretty good? And I haven’t even begun to tell you about all the tasty details. Under the first pie crust is a sweet mixture of butter and brown sugar. As the pie bakes, this goodness oozes its way up the sides of the skillet. It really makes you feel like your eating a very decadent dessert.
You top that crust with some pie filling and generous sprinkles of cinnamon sugar. Cover with your remaining crust, brush with a little butter and sprinkle that cinnamon sugar on once more. In my humble opinion, there’s no such thing as too much cinnamon sugar! I may or may have not even sprinkled the top of my ice cream. 😉 And that’s it. All that’s left is to bake and enjoy. Super easy, right?
So the next time you feel like apple pie, I do hope you’ll whip out your skillet and give my recipe a try. I’ll be back next month with another tasty dessert. In the meantime, please stop by Inspiration for Moms and say “Hi”. Or feel free to follow me on social media…

Easy Skillet Apple Pie
Prep Time: 10 minutes Cook Time: 35 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 2 refrigerated rolled pie crusts
- 1 can apple pie filling (21 oz)
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon sugar (or more! 🙂 )
- vanilla ice cream (optional, but highly recommended!)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Melt the butter in a 9-inch cast-iron skillet; set aside 1 tablespoon of melted butter for the top crust. To the melted butter add brown sugar and melt them together for about 2 minutes.
Remove from heat and line the skillet with one of the pie crusts. Pour the apple pie filling over the crust and spread evenly. Then sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of the cinnamon sugar. Use the second pie crust to cover the pie filling.
Brush the top with reserved melted butter and then sprinkle with remaining cinnamon sugar on top. Cut vents in the middle of the pie.
Bake for 30 minutes. Serve warm, topped with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream.
