Hey there! It’s Liz from Love Grows Wild, and I’m back with another delicious meal idea for you! Today I’m sharing my recipe for Creamy Pasta with Asparagus and Bacon.
In my opinion, you can never go wrong with a good pasta dish, and this one is awesome! It starts with a delicious creamy garlic parmesan sauce and little bow tie noodles, which makes the perfect little meal in itself. But I like to bump up the flavor by adding bits of crispy bacon and fresh steamed asparagus to really make it a show-stopper!
Sprinkle some chopped parsley and extra parmesan on top, and you have yourself one delicious meal! Your family will be thrilled with the addition of bacon, and you’ll be happy they’re eating a fresh, nutritious veggie! I promise this will be a recipe you’ll make over and over again!

Creamy Pasta with Asparagus and Bacon
1 lb. farfalle pasta
1 lb. fresh asparagus, trimmed and cut into 1″ pieces
8 slices bacon
2 garlic cloves, minced
4 tablespoons butter
2 cups heavy cream
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 cup Parmesan cheese, shredded
1/4 cup fresh minced parsley
Cook pasta according to package directions. Meanwhile, cook bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crisp. Remove bacon from skillet onto paper towels to drain. Once bacon is cool, crumble and set aside. Melt butter in a Dutch oven over medium heat and saute garlic 30 seconds – 1 minute until tender. Stir in the cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 3-5 minutes. Stir the Parmesan into the sauce until all Parmesan is melted and sauce is thickened. Remove from heat. Drain the pasta and add to the sauce. Add the bacon, asparagus, and parsley and stir to combine. Sprinkle with additional parsley and Parmesan for garnish, if desired and serve immediately.
Notes:
– This recipe makes about 8 servings. Feel free to cut all the ingredients in half if you’re only serving 4.
– Be sure not to burn the garlic when adding it to the hot pan. Trust me, you’ll only do it once! Stir constantly until garlic is just tender, then add the cream.
I hope your family enjoys this recipe as much as we do! I’ll see you again next month!
xoxo Liz

Made this tonight and it was delish! One thing though, you might want to add in the recipe instructions to steam the asparagus before adding it to the pasta mixture.

Hi Liz… Had 2 pasta with asparagus recipes I wanted to try tonight:( Liked the sound of your Parmesan sauce and bacon but adore Orzo which starred in the alternative. Problem solved! Just switched up 1pound of orzo for the farfalle and it turned out AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS:) My husband and son loved it too. Thanks so much for sharing.
