Today I am sharing how to throw a beautiful and fun backyard couples wedding shower. I have some amazing ideas that are so simple to create and personalize for that special couple in your life.
The key to a great wedding shower is to combine what you already have, a few inexpensive items that you can use again and again, and one-of-a-kind decorations that the Mr. and Mrs to be can take home.
To start the planning for party decorations find an inspiration piece. I just adored these bridal blooms invitations from Shutterfly. They were tasteful, simple, with gorgeous colors. They had me envisioning green grass, beautiful fresh flowers and the theme of classic fun.
For table decor we opted for a picnic table with a lovely personalized table runner with the couple’s pictures and last name and freshly cut roses in mason jars. Again… simple, but so elegant!
Tiny floral petit fours on pretty cake servers are not only delicious, but an extension of the bridal bloom theme. There were also beautiful monogrammed pillows for the comfort of our guests that also doubled as a shower gift for the couple. Framed photos of the happy couple were also scattered throughout the party.
Strawberry Margaritas were served out of tinted mason jars with chalkboard labels and topped with sliced fruit. They even matched perfectly with the roses… stunning!
Adding a few fun floral touches here and there definitely helped set the mood and keep with the bridal bloom theme. I also attached a personalized woodgrain gift tag to one of the gifts. Two gifts in one is always such a treat!
For the backyard fun, we were sure to include a few classic outdoor party games. We had a wine bottle ring toss where we placed several bottles in a crate and used rings from mason jar lids to toss. So much fun!
We painted a cornhole game with chalkboard paint and Emily and Dave had a ball playing their very own game. They were just too cute for words!
We also had fun with an instant camera… very retro and cool! I know that they will cherish all of these photos in the years to come!
One of my favorite things from the couples shower had to be their monogrammed letters. A little craft paint and a dollop of glitter makes everything chic don’t you agree?
A wonderful time was had by all. I think Emily and Dave had a blast and they had lots of goodies to take home to begin their life together.
Let the adventure begin!
